Mometasone (Elocon)

Elocon contains the corticosteroid Mometasone Furoate (0.1%). Elocon Cream is one of a group of medicines called topical corticosteroids. It is classified as a “potent corticosteroid”, which is applied directly to the skin for quick relief. When your condition flares-up, you will likely experience dry, inflamed and itchy skin. This in turn causes the skin barrier to become damaged and increase the risk of allergens that cause further inflammation and irritation.
Elocon Cream will target the skin cells to tackle this allergic response and reduce the release of inflammatory chemicals. This will then cause the redness, swelling and inflammation to subside. Elocon cream is less greasy than the ointment. It is more suitable for moist or weepy skin.
