Golden Eye Ointment contains the active ingredient chloramphenicol 1%, which helps kill off certain bacterial infections that can affect the eye. Most commonly this is a condition called bacterial conjunctivitis. Golden Eye Ointment is for use in children aged 2 years and over, adults and the elderly. Any child under 2 years of age with an eye infection should be taken to see a doctor.

Most common side effects that are experienced are:itching, mild stinging, burning, irritation, slight inflammation upon skin contact. Side effects may vary from one person to the next, as with any product. You should always read the manufacturer’s Information Leaflet before using this or any other product.
