Cerelle, is a a progesterone-only pill containing the synthetic hormone Desogestrel. Desogestrel works in two ways to prevent pregnancy for women. Firstly, it thickens the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus. Secondly, it stops eggs from being released. Therefore, ovulation stops altogether.

Common side effects inclde: headaches, acne, nausea, mood Swings, breast sensitivity. Side effects may vary from one person to the next, as with any medication. You should always read the manufacturer’s Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) before taking this or any other medication.
