Cerelle, is a a progesterone-only pill containing the synthetic hormone Desogestrel. Desogestrel works in two ways to prevent pregnancy for women. Firstly, it thickens the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus. Secondly, it stops eggs from being released. Therefore, ovulation stops altogether.
