Fucidin H cream contains two active ingredients, a mild steroid ingredient hydrocortisone and an antibiotic called fusidic acid. Hydrocortisone treats the usual symptoms of eczema such as inflammation, swelling, and itching by reducing the immune system inappropriate attack on the skin.
The antibiotic, Fusidic acid, treats the infection by preventing the bacterias ability to grow and multiply by disrupting bacterial protein synthesis.
