Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops is a colourless solution which contains two active ingredients: Xylometazoline hydrochloride and Antazoline sulphate. Xylometazoline is a decongestant and Antazoline is an anti-allergic agent. Working together, this medicine helps to make your eyes feel more comfortable by reducing the redness in the eye and relieving the itchiness caused by allergies such as hay fever. Otrivine Antistin is suitable for adults and children over the age of 12 years.
Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops can be used with other hay fever treatments such as nasal sprays and antihistamine tablets.
As with all medicines, Otrivine Antistin can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. You should stop using Otrivine Antistin and speak to your doctor if you have an allergic reaction to the drops. Other possible side effects include eyes stinging, blurred vision, headache, drowsiness, enlarged pupils, redness getting worse, rash, swelling and itching of the eye area, changes in heartbeat rhythm, raised blood pressure, sleeplessness, nausea, pallor and sweating. Side effects may vary from one person to the next, as with any product. You should always read the manufacturer’s Information Leaflet before using this or any other product. If any of these side effects last for more than a few days, speak to your doctor.
If any of these side effects get serious, or you get side effects not listed above, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
